Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a long established system of diagnosis and treatment designed to identify the causes of pain and dysfunction within the musculoskeletal system and related areas. As described by the General Osteopathic Council, osteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of medical conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body, and is based on the principle that the wellbeing of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together.
Paediatric Osteopathy
Paediatric Osteopathy is the treatment of babies and children under 16. It is a specialised branch of Osteopathy focussed on the particular needs of babies and children. A Paediatric osteopath undergoes specialist trains and commonly liaises with GPs, midwives and consultant orthopaedic surgeons to help get the best outcome for children. This is the specialism of using gentle osteopathic techniques specifically for treating babies, children, teens and perinatal mums. A paediatric osteopath look beyond conditions and take a holistic approach to a patient, using manual techniques to restore, maintain and support health and wellbeing.
